SUMMARY:Divorce and Separation – How to stop it becoming a nightmare
DESCRIPTION:Legal talks from your local City solicitors\nAn exclusive invitation for Barbican residents\nWe are pleased to invite you to attend our series of legal talks this autumn at our offices at 10 Aldersgate Street\, London\, EC1A 4HJ \nNothing is easy about getting a divorce or separating. The end of a relationship can be emotionally charged with both parties harbouring feelings of resentment and anxiety for the future. Against that background it is all too easy for disputes over financial issues to escalate into painful and expensive legal disputes. \nThis talk will look at steps that people can put in place to try and defuse potential arguments at an early stage. We will discuss the options for cohabitation agreements\, pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements to try and avoid disputes further down the line in the event of a relationship breakdown. How do you make sure that the agreements are fair and are likely to be upheld by the court? \nAnother flash point can be the grounds for divorce. How do you satisfy the courts that the marriage is over without offending the other party and escalating the dispute? We will talk about the recent news stories where a divorce was refused by the courts\, best practice to avoid disputes and the debate over whether we should have a genuine no-fault divorce system. \nOur guest speaker works with couples divorcing to help them with the emotional and financial aspects of divorce to try and keep disputes out of the courts. \nSpeakers:\nChris Corney is a Partner in our Family team\nFrancesca Flood is an Associate in our Family team \nWe also invite you join us for refreshments after our talks. \nTo secure your place at these talks\, please contact Caitlin Waghorn or Lorraine King by calling 020 7406 1000 or by email at CaitlinWaghorn@cartercamerons.com or LorraineKing@cartercamerons.com. \nBook online\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nName:\n \n\n \nEmail:\n \n\n \nTelephone:\n \n\n \nPlease leave this field empty.\n \n\n \nIf you would like to see full details of our data practices please visit our Privacy Policy and if you have any questions please email privacy@cartercamerons.com.
